Bangda/Mackerel Tawa Masala

Mackerel Tawa Masala is a famous Mangalorean recipe in restaurants. Here the fish is fried in Tawa/Pan (mostly made of Iron). The masala prepared for the tawa fry is spicy and this fish is quite delicious when lemon is being used for marination(30-45 min). Here is a Mackerel dish called " Mackerel Tawa Masala" or "Pan fried Spicy Mackerel" which you will find in most of Mangalorean home as well.
Mackerel can make your blood fresh, thinner, and prevent heart attacks as its rich in omega-3 essential fatty acids. Try this and I m sure you will crave for it more and more.



Ingredients:
8 medium cleaned Mackerel 
1 lemon juice
8-9 tbsp Red chilli powder (add according to you spice requirement)
1 tbsp pepper powder (add according to you spice requirement)
1/2 tbsp Coriander powder
1/2 tsp asafoetida powder
1 tbsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste

Method:
  • Mix the above ingredients well along  Mackerel and marinate the fish for 30 mins.
  • Shallow fry the Fish in Tawa adding a little of coconut oil.
  • Flip the fish when one side is done and let the other side fry well.
  • When the fry is ready serve it along meals.
